This
is a picture taken from the west. It plainly shows the sign and
the mural on the side of the building. The mural depicts Lewis,
Clark and an Indian looking over the Columbia River. As I find
more information about the mural I will post it here.
Stephanie's Logo is a
drawn pencil picture of a Log Cabin. The porch has a rocking
chair beside the front door, a rock foundation, and
is made of logs in the typical log cabin tradition. The
Cabin is located in a forest and there is a stream running by
the front of the cabin. The stream separates two bull moose.
Moose are a theme at Stephanie's Cabin Restaurant as two racks
have been added for atmosphere. Stephanie's is a
place where everyone is welcome and made to feel at
home. This
picture shows Stephanie´s from the west. This is the
entrance to the large parking lot and the Columbia River can be
viewed in the background to the right. The Megler
Bridge can be seen to the left of the picture. Out of
the picture is Josephson´s Smoked Fish. When arriving from
the east the parking lot is just between these business. The road
widens a little just after Josephson´
and parking can be seen behind the restaurant.

Stephanie's is the only Family Restaurant located right on the Columbia River.
Upon entering Stephanie´s, children will be amazed
to find a 300 gallon fish tank holding up to 75 beautiful fish.
From the rear dining room
one can view every ship as it passes on it's way up or down river,
one can also see Heron's, Turns, Cormorant, and Gulls
as they bask in the sun on the pilings directly behind the restaurant.
From the Front Dining Room gets a view of the Megler Bridge
and the north slope of Coxcomb Hill.
Often eagles can be seen flying to their nest up the hill.
With ample parking any truck, R.V. or vehicle with a trailer
can readily find parking.

This is a large
fish tank. It holds about 300 gallons of fresh water and contains about 75 fish. Many
people stop before and on their way after enjoying a good meal. The rocks inthe back
of the tank allow for many hiding places and fish can be seen jetting between the
rocks.
Parties of 1 to 60 are welcome.
We offer senior, children´s,
breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus.
We offer all food to go.

When sitting at the
end opposite Stephanie´s entrance traffic onthe Megler Bridge can readily be
seen, as any large ships traveling under the bridge. From the back dining
room, the channel of the Columbia River is little over 200 yards away. This gives the
patron a direct view of all traffic on the river. Sometimes asmany as 9 ships travelup
river in a day.
Breakfasts feature large portions,
4 egg omelets, plate sized pancakes,
and specialties;
Corned Beef Hash, Razor Clams, Biscuits and Gravy,
and the great Cabin Breakfast Frittata,
Mochas and other Espresso drinks.
Lunches offer BLTs, Clubs, Hamburgers with all the trimmings,
and the famous Cabin Burger. Rubens, French Dips,
and the "Big Fat Gyro" my personal favorite.
Salads are large and always made with the freshest ingredients
featuring different types of lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.
Taco, Caesar, Cobb, Spinach and Chef Salads are also available.
The dinner menu is varied, offering
Prime Rib, Prawns, Razor Clams, Halibut, Oysters, Sole, Calamari,
16oz. Rib Eye, New York, and Sirloin Steaks,
Pork Chops and Baked Chicken.
Beer and Wine are offered featuring local wineries.
All Desserts are home made and really good,
Pies, Cakes, Mousses, Ice Cream.
Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry Sundaes.
I have a hard time choosing a favorite as they are all great!

Stephanies patio is a great pace to dine and view the ships in the
summer. A light breeze and a relaxing time can be enjoyed. The strange thing
in the river behind the ree branch is an old boiler from a building that was
once located there. A close look can reveal many types of birds which share
and nest in and on this structure. One day I thought something was new,
knowing no one would do anything to this thing, I watched for a time and then
it moved. What I thought was a piece of metal became a Great Blue Heron. From the rear dining room every ship that passes can be seen. The ships
appear rather large as the river channel is just beyond the trolley tracks and
pillings. Occasionally, one can see the Bar Pilot tug retrieve one of the bar
pilots from a ship as they pass. Every ship has to have a bar pilot aboard as
the go through the mouth of the Columbia River, also known as "The
Graveyard of the Pacific". Over 2000 ships have ran aground in the
area, the river is one of the most dangerous in the world.
This
picture was taken for a seat as I was dining. The seats are for those who are
waiting to be seated, the entrance holds the fish tank which many stop to
view as they enter and leave the restaurant. There are many types of fish all
pretty. The pumpkins date this picture	as being taken during Holloween.
On the west facing side of Stephanies is a
mural showing Lewis and Clark arriving in the area. Also pictured is one of
the Indians of the area, the Columbia river and mountains in the background.
AsI find more information about this mural I will post it here
